Bioactive Compounds from the Red Sea Marine Sponge Hyrtios Species
In continuation of our search for drug leads from Red Sea sponges we have investigated the ethyl acetate fraction of the organic extract of the Red Sea sponge Hyrtios species. Bioassay-directed fractionation of the active fraction resulted into the identification of three new alkaloids, hyrtioerectines D-F (1-3). Hyrtioerectines D-F belong to the rare marine alkaloids in which the indole and β-...
متن کاملBrominated unsaturated fatty acids from marine sponge collected in Papua New Guinea.
New brominated fatty acids (3, 5-8, 10) and new sterol esters (14-16) have been isolated from an unidentified marine sponge collected in Papua New Guinea. Their structures were determined on the basis of their spectroscopic data. A major component of the marine sponge (1) was tested for activities against Arutemia salina and some fungi.
متن کاملA New Bioactive Metabolite Isolated from the Red Sea Marine Sponge Hyrtios erectus.
Chemical investigation of the lipophilic fraction of Hyrtios erectus, a Red Sea sponge, yielded a new pentacyclic nitrogen-containing scalarane; 24-methoxypetrosaspongia C (1), together with the previously reported scalaranes sesterstatin 3 (2), 12-deacetyl-12-epi-scalaradial (3) and 12-deacetyl-12,18-di-epi-scalaradial (4). The compounds were identified using HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR experiments...
متن کاملHyrtinadines C and D, New Azepinoindole-Type Alkaloids from a Marine Sponge Hyrtios sp.
New bisindole alkaloids, hyrtinadines C (1) and D (2), have been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Hyrtios sp. The structures of hyrtinadines C (1) and D (2) were elucidated based on analyses of the spectral data. Hyrtinadines C (1) and D (2) were the relatively rare alkaloids possessing a 3,4-fused azepinoindole skeleton. Hyrtinadines C (1) and D (2) showed antimicrobial activity.
متن کاملRigidin E, a New Pyrrolopyrimidine Alkaloid from a Papua New Guinea Tunicate Eudistoma Species
A new pyrrolopyrimidine alkaloid, rigidin E (1) and the known metabolites rigidin (2) and 1-methylherbipoline (3) have been isolated from a Papua New Guinea tunicate Eudistoma sp. A combination of spectroscopic data were used to determine the structures of these metabolites.
